Talent has announced the finalists for the 2017 Talent Unleashed Awards, celebrating the world’s most ground-breaking startups, innovators and entrepreneurs.

The Talent Unleashed Awards, now in their fifth year, identify companies and business leaders using technology to transform the world, creating bold and inventive solutions to business challenges or social issues.

Fifteen entrepreneurs and leaders from the UK & Europe have been named as finalists and join regional finalists from APAC and the US. Finalists will now compete for the title of ‘global winners’, which will be announced at a gala ceremony on 7 December 2017.

“What we are seeing with the Talent Unleashed Awards is part of a broader movement where people are more inclined to confidently stand up and say, ‘there’s a better way to do this!’. I certainly relate to this,“ commented Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin Group and Global Talent Unleashed judge.

Joining the judging panel for the third consecutive year, entrepreneur and Talent Unleashed Awards judge Steve Wozniak added: “There’s a great mix of young guns and seasoned pros bringing heat to this year’s Awards. It’s great to see a balance between youthful energy and experienced tech veterans amongst the finalists.“

Jonathan Butterfield, Talent EMEA CEO, believes that the UK & European entries have a great chance of shining on a global stage: “We have amazing entries from the UK & Europe this year. The technology, particularly in the startup categories, has the potential to change thousands of lives for the better and our leaders have shared some inspirational stories. I wish everyone involved in the awards this year the best of luck for the finals in December“, he said.

All UK and European finalists are invited to attend the EMEA Awards in London on 7 December 2017, where they’ll discover who has been awarded the title of ‘global winner’. The global grand prize winner of each category will be provided an all-expenses paid trip to Silicon Valley to visit the homes of global technology companies and meet with leaders in the sector.
