ICTbusiness celebrates fourth anniversary

It's been four years since ICTbusiness media project was launched. We started slowly this yet another media adventure, first with ICTbusiness.info portal, followed by the TV show ICTbusiness TV, aired at several local TV channels in Croatia.

In the four years we have developed as much as possible, we took over Gameperspectives.hr - domestic gaming portal. We did not stop there, so that at the end of last year we launched ICTbusiness.biz portal, our international edition.

When I write it like this, it does not sound like much, but behind it all there is great effort of the whole team, three virtual newsrooms working in different locations, in different cities. All this resulted in more than 20,000 articles on all portals in four years, hundreds of hours of video were recorded, or if you count in TB of material, around 12 TB which ultimately turned into 68 produced TV programs.

To create interesting content we traveled four continents, by car, by plane, by boat, by train. The trip, although it's really difficult to calculate, as if we have traveled around the Equator around the Earth several times.

We visited the world's largest fairs - CES in Las Vegas, the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, CeBIT in Hannover, Gamescom in Cologne, IFA in Berlin, and again Photokina in Cologne. There are also the largest domestic IT conferences Microsoft WinDays, Combis Conference. And many other events.

Four years ago I was asked many times "do you really need this?", "don't you know the situation the media is in?", and “are you aware of the business climate?". Others said, "you are crazy brave", "congratulations". There were also those who were saying "you chose the harder way, you could have found something safe ". And in fact, each one of them was right in a way.

It really does not matter how you look at all this, important thing to know is that entrepreneurship is not taught in schools, although some schools teach the basics of entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship is a personal attitude, will and passion, willingness to take risks, primarily at risk. No matter how much somebody feel it just an empty phrase - entrepreneurship is like parenting - 24 hour a day work, 365 days a year. It never stops and it is never over. You always create something new, you try to get better, you adjust.

When you add a special spice - journalism into this venture pot, you get really something special. Because journalism is not taught in college, journalism is not just a trade, journalism is passion. It's battle. While this text is happening in yet another sleepless night, although tired I am writing this with a smile on my face. With quiet but powerful music in the headphones. "Fight Song" at this moment.

We did a lot so far, the whole team, we can truly be proud of that, but we won't leave it at that. We will keep on creating interesting content, travel, shoot, photograph, talk, inquire, ask, and search.
