Sony Mobile announced two new smartphones from its flagship range, Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact. Both models provide advancements in camera, display and audio as well as a new design.

XZ2 has an extended 5.7“ Full HD+ 18:9 display that can play HDR content and also up-convert regular videos to near HDR. It has front facing stereo speakers with S-Force Front Surround sound playback with enhanced Bluetooth technology LDAC and support for DSEE HX technology for upscaling the sound to near high-resolution audio.

Its 19 megapixel Motion Eye camera is bringing the first 4K HDR Movie recording in a smartphone. Super slow motion recording is upgraded with 960fps now possible in Full HD. The camera has many photography features from earlier Xperia model with its intelligent control features such as Predictive Capture with motion and smile detection, Autofocus burst and Predictive Autofocus, Quick Launch and Capture.

XZ2 is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 with 4GB RAM and 64 GB storage space. It also has X20 LTE that supports connection speeds up to 1.2Gbps. New Sony flagship is powered by 3180 mAh battery and the efficient power control with software features like Smart Stamina and STAMINA mode, Battery Care and Qnovo Adaptive Charging technology which help the battery stay healthy and have a longer lifespan.

Compact version comes with a 5-inch 18:9 Full HD+ HDR display. Its battery is 2870 mAh capacity while most other features are the same or similar to its larger cousin. Both phones come with Android 8,0 Oreo and will be available globally from March.
