AMETIC, the Multisectoral Association of Electronics, Information and Communications Technologies, Telecommunications and Digital Content Companies, has recognised SEAT with the 2017 Award for promoting ICT in Spanish business. SEAT is the only company that designs, develops, manufactures and markets cars in Spain.

“We assessed the decisive boost in applying digital technologies in every brand vehicle (electronics, connectivity, sensors), as well as its strong innovative character. In this way, ground-breaking worldwide agreements are signed with leading global brands such as those announced at the latest editions of Barcelona’s Mobile World Congress,” said AMETIC president Pedro Mier.

SEAT is committed to boosting car digitisation and connectivity, as well as the creation of the Connected Hub, a venue which is specifically dedicated to the digital transformation of Vehicles. Due consideration was also given to SEAT’s commitment to developing and applying new business models in the automotive sector as a result of implementing digital technologies, and in general, its coherent digital transformation policy across all of its areas of activity.

“Cars are no longer just a method of transport, but a platform which is connected to the digital ecosystem, the second after the smartphone. SEAT strives to be a benchmark brand in connected car and in mobility services to offer our customers an easy experience that meets their needs and desires. This recognition by AMETIC encourages us to continue to promote the digital transformation we are undertaking in our products and processes,” concluded SEAT president Luca de Meo.
