Intel announced the availability of Intel Building Management Platform (Intel BMP) to help small- and medium-size buildings become smart and connected. Intel BMP has built-in security and manageability essentials to manage data from a broad set of building systems and sensors, and to filter and transfer data to the cloud (or on-premises servers). This helps make buildings smarter to increase savings in energy and efficiency as well as create a more sustainable, enjoyable and productive use of the building by its occupants.
Early contributors to the Intel BMP include CANDI for software services, Advantech for Intel IoT Gateways and Microsoft Azure IoT Hub for managing millions of IoT assets.
Intel BMP was originally demonstrated at IBCON in June 2016. Early adopting customers include Lucid and Volteo; both are piloting solutions in various small and midsize buildings through the end of the year.
