IBM Namess Johannes Maurer New General Manager for South East Europe

IBM has appointed Johannes Maurer as the new General Manager for South East Europe. In his new role, he will be responsible for all business activities and leadership of IBM in the region.

Maurer succeeds Michael Paier, who has been appointed Vice President Enterprise and Commercial, IBM Central and Eastern Europe. Prior to this new role, he was a Sales Leader for Industrial in Germany. He has a broad sales track-record at IBM, coupled with extensive business and IT transformation experience, contributing to his success working with large enterprises, and helping to develop a strong client-centric reputation amongst customers, colleagues, senior management, and partners.

As the General Manager for IBM SEE, Maurer will continue the strategy already underway, drive local business ecosystems on their digital transformation journey, and helping shape market opportunities by capitalising on partnerships leveraging disruptive technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, IoT, blockchain and security. Maurer has a Doctorate Degree in Engineering from the Technische Universität Wien (TUW), Austria.
