A1 Renews Eutelsat Agreement for A1 Croatia DTH Platform
Eutelsat and A1 Group have officially renewed a multi-year, multi-transponder agreement, confirming their long-term commitment to Eutelsat’s primary 16° East video neighborhood. This renewal secures the capacity necessary for A1 Group to continue delivering its direct-to-home (DTH) television platform for A1 Croatia, as well as providing technical services such as signal transport, uplink, and encryption for various TV broadcasters throughout Europe.
Under the terms of the renewed contract, A1 Group will continue to utilize multiple transponders at the 16° East orbital position to distribute a comprehensive portfolio of premium television channels to households across Croatia and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). The agreement ensures the sustained delivery of high-quality broadcasting and reinforces 16° East as the dominant satellite neighborhood for video distribution in the region. Currently, Eutelsat’s 16° East position reaches over 80 million DTH, cable, and IPTV homes and hosts a lineup of more than 600 television channels.
"We are delighted to extend our successful collaboration with A1 Group. This renewal underscores the enduring value of our 16° East video neighbourhood, which remains the leading satellite hotspot for broadcasting audiences across the Balkans and wider Central and Eastern Europe," said Jakub Brzeczkowski, RVP Sales Video Europe at Eutelsat.
"The renewal of our agreement with Eutelsat reflects the importance of satellite broadcasting in delivering a high-quality television experience to our customers across Croatia and CEE. Eutelsat's 16° East neighbourhood offers outstanding coverage, reliability and access to a vibrant video ecosystem, enabling us to continue providing viewers with the content they value most," added Elena Petrova, Head of Group Content and Media Solution at A1 Group.
