HT Celebrates 20 Years of MAXtv

Hrvatski Telekom is marking the twentieth anniversary of MAXtv, a service that was among the first to introduce a modernized television viewing experience to the Croatian market. To celebrate this milestone, the operator has launched a series of special offers, including a promotion where customers who sign up for the Internet + TV M package can receive MAXtv free of charge for the first two years of the contract.

Over the last two decades, MAXtv has evolved in tandem with shifting consumer habits and technological advancements. At its launch in 2006, the service offered 55 channels and a Video on Demand (VoD) feature—a revolutionary addition at the time that allowed users to watch content on their own schedules. While the video library started with approximately 150 titles, today’s combined VoD and sVoD offerings provide access to more than 25,000 titles.

The service achieved significant scale early on, surpassing 100,000 customers within its first two years and expanding its channel count to 100. The technical forward-thinking of the platform was evident even then, as users were able to remotely schedule recordings of programs via SMS. Currently, the most comprehensive MAXtv package features over 160 channels, integrating traditional television, movies, series, and high-end sports content across multiple screens.
