Meta Intends to Secure $95 Billion for AI Expansion

Meta Platforms intends to secure up to $95 billion in equity to facilitate the expansion of its AI-driven data centers and cloud computing infrastructure. This funding initiative is expected to receive support from major semiconductor manufacturers, including Nvidia, AMD, and Broadcom.

The social media conglomerate seeks to generate $35 billion through concurrent underwritten public equity offerings, alongside up to $60 billion via an at-the-market (ATM) program slated to commence in the first quarter of 2027. Meta indicated that these chipmakers have formally expressed interest in serving as cornerstone investors. They may collectively acquire up to $5 billion in Class A common stock, though Meta clarified that these expressions of interest do not yet constitute binding purchase commitments.

Meta Platforms asserted that artificial intelligence is unlocking substantial commercial opportunities, noting that its current investments are yielding measurable returns through heightened user engagement and improved advertising monetization. Recently, the company reported that net income grew from $2.7 billion in the third quarter of 2025 to $9.9 billion in the latest period, with total revenue rising 26% to $64.6 billion.
