Oura Halts Its IPO Due to Market Uncertainty

Oura has postponed its initial public offering (IPO) despite being in the advanced stages of the listing process. The manufacturer of smart rings cited volatile market conditions as the primary reason for the decision.

Oura had confidentially filed for a Nasdaq listing in May, subsequently announcing plans to offer 50 million shares within a price range of $40 to $44. The company aimed to raise a total of $2.2 billion, a move that would have valued the firm at up to $14.1 billion. However, the company clarified that it chose to delay the offering despite robust investor demand and improved business performance since the inception of the IPO process.

CEO Tom Hale stated that the company remains committed to delivering an exceptional IPO and maintains the flexibility to select an optimal time for the listing. “In the meantime, we will execute against the opportunities ahead,” Hale remarked. Oura is the latest in a series of high-profile U.S. firms to delay public offerings as broader economic concerns create market instability. Oura’s IPO had reportedly attracted orders for four times the number of available shares.
