The olive growing informatization project in Istria Region, which will be implemented with the help of Combis Olive Manager solution, was presented on Friday at the San Lorenzo Azrri oil mill in Vodnjan. On this occasion, successful implementation of the application was confirmed with signing the record of establishment of the Olive Manager application, between Combis, the Istrian Region and the Istrian Olive Cluster.
"To further enhance the valorization of Istrian olive oil and the strategy of olive growing in Istria, we need further steps, one of which is the establishment of the Olive Manager application, which will improve and enable greater production and market value of our olive oil, thus creating key prerequisites for the production and marketing of clusters that will enable us to achieve even more successful results in the olive growing sector. This pilot project proves that Istria is following modern trends in agriculture like the most developed regions of Europe", said Istrian prefect Valter Flego.
Olive Manager is a comprehensive IT system for organizing, managing and tracking the olive processing and olive oil production process. With the help of the unique code on the packaging, it is possible to find out additional information about the product like the location and breeding information, the type of production, and also location and the method of processing. The solution is in the Cloud, which enables availability from any location, also a lot of effort has been invested in a user-friendly web, mobile and tablet interface.

Our Olive Manager solution tracks all the steps in the olive oil production process and simplifies the necessary control, all to ensure increased confidence in extra virgin olive oil 'Istria'. The potential of our technology solution is exceptionally great because it is applicable to various agricultural products from raspberries, figs and blueberries, through cereals, cheese and honey. We want to strengthen the public trust in domestic products with the help of ICT, enhance consumption, but also raise the perception of quality Croatian brands outside Croatia", said Mladen Maras, Director of Application Development and Integration Division in Combis, and thanked the Department of Agriculture of the Istrian Region for participation in the pilot project as coordinator of all activities between Combis, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Istrian Cluster of olive growers.
