Startup Village

Startup Village 2019, the seventh annual international conference, began today at the Skolkovo Innovation Center. This year the event became a platform for business dialogue not only between investors and startups, but also between Russian innovation suppliers and prominent customers from abroad.

Five industry discussions with participation of large international companies will help Skolkovo residents and transnational corporations to understand each other better. The Russian technology suppliers will find out which solutions are more sought after on the markets of Europe and Asia, as well as the difference in the customers’ requirements from various regions of the world to the technology being “implanted“ into the corporate environment. Another important issue is how a new technology owner assesses the deal’s business results: a new cancer drug or the benefits of production problems analysis using artificial intelligence.

At workshops, large corporations such as AstraZeneca, Huawei, Honeywell, and PEMANDU Rus will tell the Russian companies how to simplify the process of creating competitive products and to get the highest rating from the government or commercial customers in the “demand“ column. Presentations made by accelerator companies will provide large European, American and Asian businesses an opportunity to formulate better a request for technology.

“Large corporations are now even more interested in new developments than a year ago. The difference is that the mutual efforts of the Foundation and the major market players have significantly accelerated the development of Russian startups, bringing supply and demand closer together to the maximum. Startup Village will provide the startups with valuable expertise from the best international mentors and business angels. Today this is something they really need,“ said Kirill Kaem, Senior Vice President for Innovation at the Skolkovo Foundation.
