Every Fair, Conference or Any Kind of Event can be Fully Virtual or even Hybrid

Future of the events in something called new normal can be hybrid, but now purely virtual, said in the interview for ICTbusiness.biz Michael Geisser chief sales office (CSO) from meetyoo. This German based company is specialized in creating virtual events from the real ones regarding if it is a fair, conference or any other kind of event.

As Geisser said they offer on the market two main solutions for digital events one is webcasting solutions for livestreams and the other one is ubivent platform for more complex scenarios.

This crisis has severely disrupted the event market. Your solution is one of the best on the market covering virtual events in the digital world. How long did the development take and how did you come up with the idea for such a solution?

We came up with the idea during the financial crisis in 2009. This means we are now more than 10 years in the business of digital events and there was not a single day without any development of our solution. Today, our platform offers everything you need to run a successful virtual event.

What are the key advantages of the meetyoo solution for events or conferences?

The ease-of-use is one main advantage: you can simply join from any device with a web browser. No installation of any plugin or app is required. Furthermore, we are offering a stunning virtual environment which can be tailored to the individual needs of our customers.

Do you have several solutions on offer, to whom are they intended and how have they proved useful in this crisis?

We are offering two main solutions for digital events. One is our webcasting solutions for livestreams. The other one is our ubivent platform for more complex scenarios. Since it is a platform with different modules, we can adjust easily for different use cases and solutions, like virtual town hall meetings, virtual conferences, virtual fairs, or virtual learning centers.

In what direction do you see this market evolving given that there are many solutions that offer online meetings, webinars, video calls, but so few solutions that offer a real virtual event with all its key parts - exhibition space, halls, lots of additional content?

At the moment the focus is on pure virtual events. But I am sure that the market will shift towards hybrid events, i.e. a mix between physical and virtual events. Such hybrid events offer the best from both worlds - and we have ample experience in realizing such hybrid scenarios.

This crisis may have prompted virtual events, but it is clear that there will be both in the hustle and bustle. How do you see that future?

I think you can compare the situation to working at home. This was possible in the past, but during the current crisis everyone just gathered a lot of experience with working from home. So people know now better than anytime what is possible and what not. Most companies will allow their employees to work from home even after the crisis and event in a larger scope than before COVID.

How will you add new features to your solution? What are users most looking for?

We have realized that we already offer way more features than our customers actually need or use. Our platform is like an iceberg: a small portion of our features are used in every event, but there is a lot more we can offer.

Can not only conferences but also trade fairs become virtual in the future? What has to happen for fairs to be a combination of virtual and live at the same time?

Sure, we already realize trade fairs virtually today. Not yet the big ones, but trade fairs with 100 exhibitors are already happening today.
