Facebook Introduced Threads for Instagram

Facebook recently launched Threads, standalone app connected with Instagram that's meant to be used with closest friends. It is a new camera-first messaging app that helps you stay connected to your close friends, the company said in a blog post last week.

Facebok explained that the new app is created so that users can easily communicate with their smaller circle of friends through photos and videos. Threads is a standalone app designed, Facebook claims, with privacy, speed and close connections in mind. Users can share photos, videos, messages, Stories and more with their Instagram close friends list. They will be in control of who can reach them on Threads, and can customize the experience around the people who matter most.

Threads opens directly to the camera and allows user to add shortcuts, so they can share what they’re doing in just two taps. Users can also put statuses, choosing from a suggested status, creating their own or turn on Auto Status which automatically shares little bits of context on where they are without giving away coordinates. Only close friends will see the status, and it’s completely opt-in.
