At the company’s annual event, Google presented new devices. Most interesting among them were the latest smartphones, the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, that feature motion control with upgraded camera and Assistant.

Both smartphones are powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 855 processor with 6GB RAM. The Pixel 4 comes with a 5.7-inch OLED display, while Pixel 4 XL has a 6.3-inch screen, also OLED. They're equipped with Titan M security chip and will be available with 64GB or 128GB of storage. Pixel 4 costs from $799 and XL's price starts at $899.

Smartphones have Motion Sense control, technology Google revealed earlier, a small radar chip built into the phones that is able to detect movement around the device and can initiate the face unlock process even before the device is picked up. Motion Sense also enables users to navigate key functions through gestures. Another interesting feature is a new recorder app that can simultaneously transcribe speech. The app works offline, uses AI and speech recognition, and has a search feature. So far only English language is available for transcription, with more languages coming soon.

The company said that Google Assistant now has deeper integration in new smartphones and was redesigned. The devices have a square bump on the back with flash, microphone and two lenses. The primary lens is 16MP, with an f/2.4 aperture and 52-degree field of view, while the secondary is 12MP telephoto, with an f/1.7 aperture and a 77-degree field of view.

During the event, Google also unveiled the second-generation of Pixel Buds, earphones that offer hands free option to access Assistant. The company also introduced a new Nest Mini smart speaker, a new Chromebook laptop called Pixelbook Go, and new router for its Nest Wi-Fi.
