HT Includes 12 Nursing Homes in the National Generations Together Program

Hrvatski Telekom has donated tablets and free internet for 12 additional nursing homes throughout Croatia as part of the national digital education program for the elderly called Generation Together. The program is implemented in cooperation with the Volunteer Center Zagreb.

In the program’s first two phases, as part of a broader socially responsible concept In Good Hands, HT presented a donation for 30 nursing homes. With another donation, there are now 42 nursing homes included in the Digital education of the elderly program. Institutions that received the donation and participate in the third phase of this program of Hrvatski Telekom are Nursing home Bjelovar, Nursing home Slavonski Brod, Nursing home Dubrovnik, Nursing home Domenico Pergolis, Nursing home of Lika-Senj County, Nursing home Beli Manastir, Nursing home Požega, Nursing home Kantrida Rijeka, Nursing home Sisak, Nursing home Vis, Nursing home Cvjetni dom Šibenik and Nursing home Vukovar.

During 2020 and 2021, nursing home residents were also trained to use digital tools, such as setting up WhatsApp video calls, to be better connected with their families and friends. So far, the program has connected more than 1,500 seniors. Thanks to this program, as many as 600 nursing home residents made more than 2,000 calls lasting a total of more than 6,000 minutes. Members of the HT Group Volunteer Club also participated in the program.

We wanted to open the doors of the digital world to reduce their loneliness and isolation and replace it with connectivity and inclusion. The positive reactions we received from the homes that have participated in the program so far have motivated us not to stop there, but to continue fulfilling our mission of building a world of better opportunities for all,“ said Ivan Bartulović, Hrvatski Telekom’s Chief Human Resources Officer.
