Infobip utilized the world’s largest mobile telecommunications trade shows MWC in Barcelona last year to show its new visual identity and it was the first step in a further globalization of the company as it revealed it’s planning an IPO soon. Also, the company announced the plans for creating a new campus in Zagreb which will be open sometime this year. Infobip has already built its campus in their hometown in Vodnjan. We talked to one of the co-founders of Infobip Silvio Kutić about the plans for 2020.

What will you remember from last year?

2019 was a dynamic year full of challenges and new things we were facing on the way. In the end, it was a year of a great success. We have grown up in almost all the operating segments. We have 50 percent increase in the number of employees, from 1400 at the beginning of 2019, to over 2100 in the end. We have re-opened several offices all over the world. Last month we have opened our fourth Croatian office in Split, and this month in Yangon, Myanmar, 67th globally. We had a strong and concrete launch of the IoT segment, where we have the first test users.

We also started working on the use of AI, and created our own ChatBot. We confirmed our customer-centric position by shifting even more to customers and curator experiences, which we consider essential in this era of connectivity. We also started a very important project in the middle of the year, with the construction of the Sveta Klara campus for our staff in Zagreb.

And what do you expect in 2020?

In 2020, we expect to finalize the building of the campus in Zagreb, where 650 of our staff will work and innovate. This will be another very important moment in the present Infobip's journey. We are planning further recruitments, about one thousand new employees, many of them will be engineers. We will continue to strengthen further with the development of advanced technology solutions and products.

We'll also focus on the continued development of SaaS solutions, such as cloud, chatbots, and Moments, i.e. communication solutions to improve user experience — all in the direction of a conversational messaging and commerce. We aim to further develop partnerships with system integrators, operators and software companies with a goal of creating shared service ecosystem.
