Second Season of Hrvatski Telekom e-League Starts

The excellent premiere season of the Hrvatski Telekom e-League, the satisfaction of the players, and the strong interest of viewers is the reason for an even bigger, more attractive new season. It will be rich in content with as many as eight clubs participating: Dinamo, Osijek, Rijeka, Lokomotiva, Gorica, Istra, Šibenik, and Varaždin.

Registrations to participate in the second season last until April 3. All football fans can measure their strength and knowledge by playing FIFA 21 on the PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 console and compete on behalf of their favorite domestic football club. The competition is open to a maximum of 1,024 participants, divided into two groups. After the qualifying and playoff matches, we will know the four best who will compete for the main prize of HRK 10,000. The prize fund is HRK 18,000. The runner-up will win HRK 5,000, third place HRK 2,000, while fourth place will receive a prize of HRK 1,000.

Qualifying matches take place from April 6 to 18, the playoffs start on April 21 and last until May 30, and the grand final of the Hrvatski Telekom e-League will take place on June 5, 2021. Each week, competitors will be able to win valuable and attractive prizes via social media, including a PlayStation 5, a specialized gaming monitor, jerseys, and game vouchers.

“We are delighted with the last season of the Hrvatski Telekom e-League. It was the first step of Hrvatski Telekom into the esport industry. We attracted 900 players in record time. This season, we expect even more excitement and attractive matches that will be a grand intro to the eagerly awaited European Football Championship. By implementing the first commercial 5G network in Croatia and continuously investing in the development and expansion of fiber-optic infrastructure, Hrvatski Telekom places Croatia alongside the most advanced countries, and thanks to the leading network, provides the gaming community with a superior user experience,“ said Richard Brešković, Director of Residential Marketing Sector.

Last year’s Hrvatski Telekom e-League had a total of 362 matches with 2,111 goals scored. The games were viewed on YouTube and Facebook by more than 400 thousand viewers. The Hrvatski Telekom e-League was created in cooperation with the Good Game Global. The project partners, along with clubs, are PlayStation, Samsung Odyssey, and Paysafecard.

“I am pleased that we continue our successful cooperation with Hrvatski Telekom on this project. Last season showed us that there is a great interest in Croatia for a competition in which, for the first time, esport football fans can play in this unique format of the meeting of best Croatian football clubs and thus measure strength with the talents of Croatian sports,“ said Nikola Stolnik, founder and director of Good Game Global.
