Tech Companies Dominate Among the Top Global Brands

For the first time ever in 2022, the average brand value of Interbrand’s Best Global Brand list has reached over $3 trillion. The overall value of the Top 100 brands has reached $3,088 trillion, a 16% rise from 2021 ($2,667 trillion).

This year sees the fastest rate of brand value growth ever recorded, demonstrating the growing contribution a company’s brand has in driving its economic success. While financial markets have shown significant swings over the last few years, the value of the world’s strongest brands has steadily increased driving customer choice, loyalty, and margins.

In the top ten brands are visible exponential growth and the emergence of a "super league". Built on a foundation of exceptional experiences and strong integrity, these companies can move in multiple directions, growing their share of customers’ lives, along with their brand value and market cap. Most brands in the Top 100 come from the tech sector, about one-third.

Tech companies are dominating the Top 20 Interbrand list. Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Google, and Samsung held the top five places. They are joined by Cisco, Instagram, Facebook, IBM, Intel, and SAP, placed from 15th to 20th position. Other than tech giants, most of the rest of the Top 20 companies come from the automotive industry. Toyota holds sixth place, Mercedes-Benz is eighth, Tesla 12th, and BMW 13th.
