The average monthly paid off net earnings per person in employment in legal entities of the Republic of Croatia for the first quarter of 2021 amounted to 7 262 kuna for men and to 6 806 kuna for women. Compared to the same period last year, the average net earnings increased by 4.0% for men and by 4.5% for women.

The greatest increase in the average net earnings was recorded in Human health and social work activities (11.5% for men and 9.7% for women). At the same time, the greatest decrease in the average net earnings was spotted in Accommodation and food service activities for men (5.9%) and in Administrative and support service activities for women (4.4%).

For the first quarter of 2021, men had the highest net earnings in Financial and insurance activities, which amounted to 11 446 kuna, while they had the lowest net earnings in Accommodation and food service activities, which amounted to 5 321 kuna. The highest average net earnings for women were recorded in Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply and amounted to 9 011 kuna, while the lowest net earnings were recorded in Administrative and support service activities and amounted to 4 947 kuna.

The average monthly gross earnings per person in employment for the first quarter of 2021 amounted to 9 770 kuna for men and to 9 141 kuna for women. Compared to the same period last year, the average gross earnings increased by 2.4% for men and by 2.9% for women. The greatest increase in the average gross earnings was recorded in Human health and social work activities, 9.9% for men and 8.7% for women. At the same time, the greatest decrease in the average gross earnings was recorded in Accommodation and food service activities for men (8.6%) and in Administrative and support service activities for women (6.4%).

For the first quarter of 2021, men had the highest gross earnings in Financial and insurance activities, which amounted to 16 449 kuna, while they had the lowest gross earnings in Accommodation and food service activities, which amounted to 6 931 kuna. The highest average gross earnings for women were recorded in Information and communication and amounted to 12 631 kuna, while the lowest gross earnings were recorded in Accommodation and food service activities and amounted to 6 420 kuna.

In the first quarter of 2021, men had 170 paid hours on average and women 169 paid hours on average. The average monthly paid off net earnings per hour for the first quarter of 2021 amounted to 41.95 kuna for men and to 39.46 kuna for women. The average monthly gross earnings per hour for the first quarter of 2021 amounted to 56.44 kuna for men and to 53.01 kuna for women.

For the first quarter of 2021, women had a higher average gross earnings per hour than men in four activity sections, ranging between 15.5% in Construction and 1.6% in Transportation and storage, while men had a higher average gross earnings per hour than women in the remaining fifteen activity sections, ranging between 25.7% in Financial and insurance activities and 2.4% in Mining and quarrying.
