The Year of Prizes and Turns for Greyp Bikes

Greyp Bikes, the company created as the spin-off Rimac Automobili, had many great successes last year, Operational Director Krešimir Hlede highlighted in an interview for ICTbusiness.info. He adds that even three new models and their evolution and production marked a shift in the development philosophy of Greyp, where the focus from "power and speed" goes to "smart and connectivity." In that context Hlede perceives good foundation for further growth in a market where they don't want to be just one of many producers, but to become the company that will bring new technological solutions to the market.

What was 2019 for Greyp?

Greyp will remember 2019 as a year in which we presented three new models of electric mountain bicycles. Greyp G6 in 3 versions was presented in March and received several remarkable reviews from the media and the customers, and was endorsed by the industry as the best electric mountain bike in 2019 by EUROBIKE award. The development and production of the new electric bicycle model marked a shift in the development philosophy of Greyp, focusing from "power and speed" to "smart and connectivity," creating a unique user experience.

In September, we presented new models based on G6: a G5, which is the hardtail eMTB, and G6.X limited edition by which we have paid tribute to our electric legacy. Apart from the new products, in 2019 we also worked out the most important strategic project in the company’s history. Greyp became the first company to discharge public offer of digital tokens.

That way, we have acquired more than 1000 new investors who invested €1.4 million. Thanks to this project, we brought liberalization in the investment, and also brought investing in high-tech companies closer to ordinary people. It was important to see how many people believe in Greyp as a connected platform for mobility and feel the support by the community which we have created around us.

What do you expect from 2020?

We have big expectations for 2020. We expect a significant increase in sales and therefore of revenue. We are opening up big markets and expanding our team. In April, Greyp Bikes will opens branch in the US, expand our business to France and Italy, and continue to build our network of dealers in Europe. The potential of this segment is impressive and we will, I'm sure of that, take our part of the market. The industry has recognized us, and it is up to us to seize our advantages.

We developed many corporate functions in 2019. Today we have 70 employees, more than half of them in the development department. That shows that we're not just a startup anymore, but are becoming a real corporation.
