HT Continues to Spread its 5G Network in Croatia

Hrvatski Telekom continues to introduce a commercial 5G network throughout Croatia. The 5G signal is now available in ten new towns: Dugo Selo, Karlovac, Krapina, Nin, Poreč, Rovinj, Slavonski Brod, Umag, Velika Gorica, and Zadar, which means that the signal covers 34 Croatian cities and towns and 1.5 million inhabitants of Croatia.

“The introduction of the 5G network is not just a technological issue, but a reflection of a business and a national strategy that will define how successful and competitive we as an economy and society will be over the next ten years. Given the almost limitless possibilities of application in many industries and segments, it is crucial to turn 5G potential into reality and create new platforms on which to base future growth. New platforms that will provide more efficient business models, advanced connectivity, and a higher standard of living based on modern mobile technologies", said Boris Drilo, member of the Management Board and CTIO of Hrvatski Telekom.

HT's 5G network currently operates on Dynamic Spectrum Sharing (DSS) technology, which allows the use of existing frequencies for 5G and rapid implementation of the 5G network, and reduces the need for new base stations and locations on specific 5G frequencies. In March this year, the company was the first to start involving Croatian commercial users in tests on the 3.5 GHz frequency band.
