With the official end of the public auction procedure for the assignment of radio frequency spectrum for mobile networks HT assured by far the largest spectrum share which is another key strategic lever for further development of its already leading and fastest mobile network.
Following the public auction procedure and the €135.3 million investment for RF spectrum, Hrvatski Telekom was awarded 2x10 MHz in the 800 MHz frequency band, 2x15 MHz in the 900 MHz frequency band, 2x30 MHz in the 1800 MHz frequency band, 2x25 MHz in 2100 MHz frequency band and 2x25 MHz in 2600 MHz frequency band.
Consequently, from the total offered amount of radio frequency spectrum of 2x270 MHz, HT was awarded 2x105 MHz. With those frequqncies, the company maintained its leading position in terms of spectrum shares for mobile networks.
Licenses for the use of the radio frequency spectrum are being assigned for 15 years, with validity starting from 19 October 2024. HT continues to use the previously assigned 2x95 MHz in the above-mentioned frequency bands until the new licenses for the use of the radio frequency spectrum begin to be valid.
„The successful completion of the spectrum auction is yet another proof of HT's commitment to building our mobile network further, additionally improving its capacities. Our customers, society, and the economy will all greatly benefit from our €135.3 million investment, as with us securing the largest share of the spectrum the customers across Croatia will enjoy an even better network quality and market-best experience. At the same time with our substantial contributions to the State budget we are providing key support to the national digitalization plans,“ stated Kostas Nebis, CEO of Hrvatski Telekom.
