HOF Capital Completes the Acquisition of Porsche’s Stake in Rimac
The partnership between Porsche and Rimac Group, which led to the establishment of the Bugatti Rimac joint venture in 2021, has reached a new phase.

The partnership between Porsche and Rimac Group, which led to the establishment of the Bugatti Rimac joint venture in 2021, has reached a new phase. At the time of formation, Rimac Group held a 55% majority stake in the venture, with Porsche holding 45%. Additionally, Porsche maintained a 21% direct shareholding in the Rimac Group itself.
In a transaction initially announced in April 2026, a consortium led by HOF Capital—featuring BlueFive Capital as the primary investor alongside other institutional players from the US and Europe—agreed to acquire Porsche’s various shareholdings in both Rimac Group and Bugatti Rimac. This transaction has now officially closed, with Rimac Group retaining its 55% majority ownership of the Bugatti Rimac joint venture.
“This is an important step for Bugatti Rimac and the entire Rimac Group. I am delighted that HOF Capital and its consortium are becoming our partners in the next phase of our Group's development, and I look forward to working together to realize the full potential of our companies. We have made strong progress across all companies in the Group, and I believe this partnership gives additional momentum to our continued growth,” said Mate Rimac, Founder and President of Rimac Group and Rimac Bugatti CEO.
With the finalization of this new shareholder structure, Bugatti Rimac is further consolidating the long-term strategic vision established by Mate Rimac when he was appointed CEO in 2021. This move is supported by a restructured leadership team designed to manage future growth. As part of these changes, Christophe Piochon will step down from his roles as President of Bugatti Automobiles and Chief Operating Officer of Bugatti Rimac.
Mate Rimac will now personally assume the role of President of Bugatti Automobiles. Concurrently, Marko Brkljačić, previously the Chief Operating Officer at Rimac Technology, is expected to join the leadership team at Bugatti Rimac as Chief Operating Officer. Further executive changes are anticipated in the near future, including the transition of current Bugatti Automobiles Managing Director Hendrik Malinowski into the role of Chief Commercial Officer for the brand.
These executive appointments occur at a significant moment for the marque: the opening of the new "La Manufacture" production facility in Molsheim this July and the conclusion of the final testing phase for the Tourbillon. These milestones are foundational to the ten-year strategic vision for Bugatti that was initiated under Mate Rimac’s leadership three years ago.
