Samsung Unveiled Galaxy S10 Line and its First Foldable Smartphone

Korean tech giant Samsung unveiled its new smartphones in an event held in San Francisco and London simultaneously. New Galaxy S10 comes in several versions, including their first phone supporting 5G. They also announced first foldable smartphone, Galaxy Fold.

With four devices, the Galaxy S10 line is engineered to meet the needs of today’s smartphone market. Each device delivers many new capabilities in the categories consumers care about most: display, camera and performance.

Galaxy S10 is a direct descendant of last years' S9, as well as Galaxy S10+. S10e is built for those who want all the premium essentials in a compact package on a flat screen, while S10 5G is created for those who want fastest available speeds and the most powerful features.

S10e will come with 5,8-inch flat Dynamic AMOLED screen in Full HD+ resolution. S10 comes with 6,1-inch curved Dynamic AMOLED in Quad HD+ resolution. S10+ has a 6,4-inch screen, while S10 5G comes with 6,7-inch screen.

S10e will have a dual main camera, S10 and S10+ come with triple cameras, while the 5G model will have a quadruple back camera. All devices are based on Snapdragon 855 platform with 6, 8 or 12 GB of RAM and storage space from 128 GB going up to 1 TB on S10+ model. Batteries will go from 3,100 up to 4,500 mAh.

5G model will offer access to next generation networks. In Europe, Samsung has partnered with major mobile network operators in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and the UK. The release date, pricing and other details will be unveiled next week in Barcelona at the Mobile World Congress 2019.

The Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10e will be available in stores and online beginning March 8 in select markets. Pricing starts at $899.99 for Galaxy S10, $999.99 for Galaxy S10+ and $749.99 for Galaxy S10e. Preorders begin today.

Samsung also unveiled its first foldable device, a smartphone that transforms into a tablet. It comes with two screens: the 4,6-inch smartphone screen and a 7,3-inch tablet screen when unfolded. It will also be powered by Snapdragon 855 supported by 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage space. The device will have a total of six cameras and two batteries. Galaxy Fold will be available from April 26 with an expected price of $1,980.
