Oura, the manufacturer of the prominent smart ring, is aiming to raise $3 billion through an initial public offering (IPO) that would value the company at more than $16 billion, according to a filing made in May. While the exact timing and final details have yet to be confirmed, there is a possibility that the listing could take place as early as next month.
The IPO is anticipated to result in a significant sale of stock by current investors as the company transitions to the public market. Oura’s valuation has climbed steadily, reaching $11 billion in September 2025 following a $875 million Series E funding round that was supported by several high-profile institutional investors.
CEO Tim Hale said it had sold 5.5 million devices in the opening nine months of 2025, more than double the figure in the first six months of 2024. The company intends to use the capital from the IPO to capitalize on the increasing consumer interest in fitness trackers that go beyond the traditional smartwatch format, as its ring-based devices continue to gain market momentum. Oura is currently targeting revenue of $1.5 billion for this year, a significant jump from the $500 million reported in 2024.
The technology sector has seen a resurgence in high-profile listings throughout 2026, making it a particularly active arena for IPOs. The year’s most notable listing so far was SpaceX’s record-breaking debut in June. Following closely behind, AI industry leaders such as Anthropic and OpenAI are also expected to move toward their own public offerings in the near future.
