Deutsche Bank will be the only major German lender to be represented at the CEBIT fair. The bank will be exhibiting its Deutsche Bank API Program (dbAPI) in the hall dedicated to the Scale 11 start-up platform.

They claim that they would like to encourage companies to utilise banking data for their applications via the dbAPI interface. “We will be exhibiting in the hall with all of the start-ups we would like to work with on developing new products,“ said Joris Hensen, initiator and Co-Head of the API programme.

Deutsche Bank will demonstrate the broad possibilities that banking data offer.“We are always looking for new approaches on how our clients can intelligently and wisely leverage the potential of their data,“ added Hensen. This is aimed at companies which are also looking to develop digital applications that go beyond conventional financial services, be they start-ups or established businesses. Customers retain full control of their personal data at all times.

Oliver Frese, Deutsche Messe’s Managing Board member responsible for CEBIT, said: “Although digitalisation provides major opportunities for the entire financial sector, it also faces challenges. The new-look CEBIT is the right place to discuss the future of the banking business from different viewpoints and we are pleased that Deutsche Bank is part of it“.
