The teams have been presented with the task of developing the method of communication of the future. Be it augmented reality, virtual reality, or some other third technology, the innovation and development of an idea will be considered the most valuable, and the additional advantage will be given to the solutions with market potential.

“As the leading telecommunications company in Croatia, HT sets the digital trends and services. In order to be the best, we find it important to be in a direct contact with new and innovative ideas, and we know that start-up communities and projects like hackhaton are the most important players in this game. They gather people who think fresh and outside the box, which is crucial in the dynamic telecommunications sector. We want to encourage such people in their development and collaborate with them professionally - it is a part of our broader strategy of collaboration with the academic and student STEM community,“ said Member of the Management Board of HT responsible for human resources Marija Felkel and added that she is very pleased two of the contestants are the employees of HT.

The driving force behind the organisation of Hack it! is a team of HT employees managed by Ana Pauzar, Head of the Product Enablers and New Business Section and hackhaton Project Manager.

“We are more than pleased with the interest expressed for this event by the start-up community, because we received more than 150 applications. We selected the best 43 applicants, applied either as teams or as individuals. The solutions that we are looking for must be integrated, creative, and feasible, and the goal is to ask ourselves eventually - how didn’t we think of that? We would be especially happy if the outcome of our Hack it! be a communications solution applicable in the entire Deutsche Telekom,“ said Ana Pauzar and added that starting from June, HT had been coordinating the Core Communication Competence Center for the DT Group, which means that the Company is responsible for the implementation of objectives oriented to core communications telecom services on the Deutsche Telekom level.

The event will take place in the premises of Hrvatski Telekom at the address Park Stara Trešnjevka 2. The programme officially starts on Friday, 4 November, at 5 PM. After an intro presentation and grouping of teams, hacking will kick off. During both days, the teams will have an international team of external mentors at their disposal to assist the contestants in directing and developing their ideas. Since the hacking will last for hours, the contestants will have the possibility to relax in a chill out zone, where an abundance of innovative gadgets, food, and drinks will be available to them all the time. Besides the valuable prizes for the top three positions, the organiser has also prepared various surprise gifts.
