The company Hive, which is based in Sweden, announced their solution for video integration with Skype Meeting Broadcast and Office Video. They claim that their Hive Streaming software can significantly reduce network load in large video meetings over Microsoft's software. They will present their solution at CeBIT exhibition in Hannover later this month.
Hive Streaming is fully integrated with Skype for Business and Office Video to deliver high-quality video on a large scale. That solution creates a software-based Content Delivery Network on top of existing device hardware while additional hardware and central servers are not required. Idle hardware capacity gets activated by Hive Streaming to improve productivity and cost-effectiveness.
The company claims that their patented Peer-to-Peer technology reduces network load by up to 99% when streaming video. They also say that combination of local installed software and Microsoft Azure cloud services allows fast and easy deployment with little configuration.
Hive Insights analytics provides proof about viewer’s Quality of Experience. Successful transmission of video events can be tracked in real-time and reviewed in detail after the event. The Silent Tests feature allows simulations of events beforehand and completely in the background without impacting users. Hive Insights for Skype Meeting Broadcast customers is free of charge and doesn’t require a Hive Streaming installation.
