A1 Telekom Austria Group Acquires Spectrum in Slovenia for €42.2 Million

Last week, A1 Slovenia and their parent company A1 Telekom Austria Group has acquired spectrum of: 10 MHz in 700 MHz, 40 MHz in 1.4 GHz, 15 MHz in 2.1 GHz, 100 MHz in 3.6 GHz and 400 MHz in 26 GHz bands for a total of €42.2 million. The frequencies allocations are valid for 15 years.

The auction was held in SMRA (Simultaneous Multi-Round Auction) format. Through the acquisition of the frequency asset, A1 Slovenia will be able to further enhance and create extended user experience for existing and future customers, who are looking forward to enhanced, 5G based, high-speed, ultra-reliable and low latency services for residential and business customers.

The rollout and further development of the powerful A1 network will support the digitalization of the Slovenian society, who will benefit from exciting new services like autonomous driving, e-health, Cloud Gaming and the development toward the Industry 4.0 in the future. The purchase price for the spectrum will be payable within the next few weeks. A1 Telekom Austria Group will finance the spectrum acquisition from the current cash flow.
