Anuvu and Eutelsat Collaborate on In-Flight Services
Eutelsat has signed a multi-year deal for in-flight entertainment and connectivity with specialist provider Anuvu.

Eutelsat has signed a multi-year deal for in-flight entertainment and connectivity with specialist provider Anuvu. The flight connectivity specialist is to gain access to high-throughput Ku-band capacity from Eutelsat’s geosynchronous Earth orbit (GEO) equipment.
The satellite sits at 10 degrees East, which the company stated gives visibility from the Americas to Asia. Eutelsat teased an unnamed global airline as among the Anuvu customers set to be covered by the satellite and stated the deal highlights the importance of having GEO capacity in its offering.
Thierry Polycarpe, VP Aero and Maritime Connectivity at the satellite player, said its GEO range helps Eutelsat to meet the evolving needs of the aviation market. The Eutelsat 10B offers flexible capacity allocation and can optimise spectrum usage. Multi-beam antennas are set up for mobile connectivity.
Anuvu VP of Network Tim Southard explained the wide coverage of the Eutelsat 10B was a key factor in the deal, bolstering the company’s quality of service. It is mostly tapping the bird for services across the Middle East and Europe, Southard said.
