UK Communications Service Provider O2 has launched commercial 5G in several major cities enabled by Ericsson products and solutions. O2 5G networks have been switched on in Edinburgh, Cardiff, Belfast and Leeds, supporting commercially available smartphones.
Ericsson Cloud Core network for 5G includes Cloud Packet Core and Cloud Unified Data Management and Policy, while 5G New Radio (NR) RAN product and solutions from the Radio System include Baseband 6630, Radio 8823 and AIR 6488. Ericsson also provides Managed Services solutions to O2’s 5G network, including design, optimization and day-to-day operations.
In addition to delivering enhanced mobile broadband to subscribers, O2 will also explore 5G innovation opportunities with enterprise and industry customers in the IoT and Industry 4.0 as digitalization gathers pace. Ericsson said in a statement that it will continue to help O2 roll out 5G in other cities and towns in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
O2 has launched 5G business tariffs to suit businesses of every size, whatever their data requirements. Small and medium-sized businesses and enterprise customers will benefit from the ‘no premium’ 5G Access bolt-on, which can be added to a customer’s subscription, without the need to change their contract. O2 will make further announcments in the following months.

A1 Croatia ended the third quarter of 2026 among the markets contributing to service revenue growth, while A1 Group’s international operations once again drove consolidated performance. The quarterly disclosures, however, do not provide separate financial amounts for Croatia: there are no Croatian revenue, EBITDA, EBITDA after leases or capital expenditure figures for either the quarter or the first nine months. Croatia’s performance can therefore be assessed through the operating trends identified in the report and through the aggregate international segment, but not through a standalone Croatian profit and loss account. This distinction matters when comparing A1 with other operators in the Croatian market.
