Hrvatski Telekom continued to invest in the development of telecommunications infrastructure in the town of Požega. After shortening the subscriber loop, the project of implementing the optical access network started.

With this implementation, 4,383 households will have the possibility to use optical infrastructure advantages. The investment is worth more than HRK 16 million. Works are currently being carried out in the communities of Babin Vir, Praulje, and Sajmište, and the plan is to connect the first users in early December 2020. Next year, the plan is to implement a network in the Požega center, which will allow an additional 2,989 households to use optical infrastructure.

The implementation of this project will improve the user experience and enable the use of advanced and innovative digital products and services such as e-Citizens, e-school, e-health, and e-parking, which require high access speeds. At the same time, the introduction of optical infrastructure will contribute to increasing the competitiveness of the local economy.

"Fiber-optic networks to households undoubtedly provide the highest quality and fastest internet access and are an integral part of society's digitalization, increasing economic competitiveness, and quality of life. I am glad that the citizens of Požega will enjoy the opportunities provided by optical infrastructure," said Boris Drilo, CTIO of Hrvatski Telekom.
