Kyndryl to Invest €100 Million for Digital Transformation in France

During the state-run "Choose France" investment summit in Versailles, Kyndryl announced it would spend over €100 million over the next three years in the country. The company will aim projects centred around aiding digital transformation for businesses in France, including the creation of local cloud infrastructure for AI.

Kyndryl explained that the availability of the specific private cloud would provide the means for its customers to accelerate the development and deployment of enterprise AI applications in a secure environment. Other measures set to be undertaken by the company include a plan to hire 300 experts in data, AI, and cyber resilience and the opening of a digital hub in Sophia-Antipolis.

Kyndryl’s digital hub will provide a facility dedicated to innovations in AI and cybersecurity. It will also partner with educational institutions and research centres to provide facilities for students and career opportunities in the two sectors. The company noted in its own research conducted in France that just 28% of business leaders believe their workforces are completely ready to take advantage of AI, and half said there was a lack of skilled talent to manage the technology.

Kyndryl France president Jerome Calmelet noted its moves aim to prepare the French economic fabric to face the challenges of tomorrow and remain competitive on the international stage. He added that the company is committed to supporting French companies in their digital transitions and contributing to economic growth and innovation in France.
