Meta Platforms announced it has acquired Assured Robot Intelligence, a startup developing AI models for robots. The move is a part of Meta's major initiative to build humanoid technology. Financial terms were not disclosed.
“We acquired Assured Robot Intelligence, a company at the frontier of robotic intelligence designed to enable robots to understand, predict, and adapt to human behaviours in complex and dynamic environments,” Meta stated. The representative explained that Assured Robot Intelligence will bring deep expertise in designing models and frontier capabilities for robot control and self-learning, extending to whole-body humanoid control.
Assured Robot Intelligence team will join Meta’s Superintelligence Labs, where co-founders Lerrel Pinto and Xiaolong Wang will work alongside Meta Robotics Studio, a research group established in 2025 to develop underlying technology for humanoids. According to their LinkedIn accounts, Wang was previously a research scientist at Nvidia. At the same time, Pinto was the co-founder of Fauna Robotics, before it was sold to Amazon in March to support its own humanoid robot efforts.
