Samsung teased details of the next Galaxy Unpacked event on 25 February in San Francisco. The smartphone giant will launch its S26 flagship series along with upgraded earbuds and other accessories.

Company's Mobile eXperience EVP Cho Seong said the Galaxy S26 series will revolutionize the user experience with user-centric, next-generation AI experiences. The device will also feature a second-generation custom application processor and new camera sensors, he added. Its Galaxy smartphones support Google Gemini, but the vendor is considering adding OpenAI and Perplexity AI features to give customers more options.

Samsung faces intensifying competition from Apple, which reported its best-ever quarter in its fiscal Q1 ending 27 December, driven by a 23.4% increase in iPhone sales to $85.3 billion. While both gained in the global smartphone market in Q4, Apple continued to lead with a 25% share compared with Samsung’s 23%. For the full year, each had a 19% share after shipments grew 7%.
