During a White House assembly with prominent technology executives and government representatives, US President Donald Trump opposed more stringent artificial intelligence regulations. Alongside Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, Trump said industry leaders largely favor corporate self-regulation.

“There is a conviction that there should be significant self-regulation, and we inherently have oversight through the Department of Justice and the FBI,” Trump remarked. Beyond Huang and Musk, the summit participants included Anthropic’s Dario Amodei, Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Alphabet’s Sundar Pichai, Microsoft’s Satya Nadella, AMD’s Lisa Su, and OpenAI president Greg Brockman.

Despite various U.S. states implementing local statutes or moratoriums on data centers, Trump noted that the executives are committed to collaborating with local communities on infrastructure projects. He further suggested that AI-oriented data centers would gain significant domestic popularity as a result of the initiatives spearheaded by the technology firms represented at the meeting.
