IBM announced new hybrid cloud offerings to help businesses migrate, integrate and manage applications and workloads seamlessly and with security across any public or private cloud and on-premises IT environment.
The IBM Institute for Business Value estimates that by 2021, 98 percent of organizations surveyed plan to adopt hybrid architectures, but just 38 percent will have the procedures and tools they need to operate that environment. The process today is challenging because it is largely manual with major security implications and a lack of consistent management and integration tools.

New IBM Services for Cloud Strategy and Design are a comprehensive set of services designed to advise clients on how to architect the right holistic cloud strategy from design, migration, integration, road mapping and architectural services to navigating their journey to cloud.
Building off of a recent partnership expansion announcement with ServiceNow, IBM is also introducing new Services for Multicloud Management to provide a single system to help enterprises simplify the management of their IT resources across multiple cloud providers, on-premises environments and private clouds.
Cloud Hyper Protect Crypto Service is designed to provide security on the public cloud. This service will provide encryption key management with a dedicated cloud hardware security module built on the only FIPS 140-2 level 4-based technology offered by a public cloud provider. To provide high levels of security across both public and private clouds, IBM is also announcing significant enhancements to IBM Cloud Private on Z.
Burra was created as a platform for consolidating IT services companies in Southeast Europe, with a commercial focus on Western Europe and the United States. Its first members, Devōt, Tacta and CoreLine, continue to run their existing businesses while integration is planned gradually, primarily through new projects. Sven Marušić says the aim is not to turn founders into corporate employees, but to build a larger organisation in which they remain shareholders and drivers of growth.
Telecom operators are no longer using AI only for network optimisation and routine operations. They are applying it to faster product development and customer conversations. Matija Ražem says AI enables prototypes in hours, quicker market testing, and automation of many standard support questions. The next step may be a world where personal digital agents interact with agents from telecoms, banks and other large organisations.
ReversingLabs is developing agent-based approaches to security operations, while warning that the expertise needed to manage such systems will become even more critical.
