Samsung announced its new digital platform that will integrate with its Pay and Pass apps. This will allow Galaxy smartphone users to store and access digital keys, IDs, boarding passes, and payment in a single app secured by Samsung Knox.
“Samsung Wallet is bringing a new level of everyday convenience to mobile devices with a safe and secure environment for storing digital keys, cards, and more,” said Jeanie Han, EVP and Head of Digital Life, MX Business at Samsung. “As part of our ongoing commitment to open ecosystems, we will continue to expand on the capabilities of Samsung Wallet by working closely with our trusted partners and developers.”
The app allows users to add digital home door keys along with those covering some models of cars. Samsung said in a statement that users can monitor their cryptocurrencies by using the Galaxy ecosystem to integrate with Samsung Blockchain Wallet. The Samsung Wallet also can give users one-swipe access to their COVID-19 vaccination documents, loyalty and gift cards, and, later this year, official identification cards. The app was launched in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the UK, and the US.
