Deutsche Telekom has announced significant leadership changes within its finance and technology departments, according to a recent press release. Christian Illek is set to depart from his role as CFO following the 2027 Annual General Meeting in April for age-related reasons. He will be succeeded by Dhananjay Mirchandani, who is scheduled to assume the position on May 1, 2027.
During a recent Supervisory Board meeting, it was also confirmed that Jan Hofmeyr will join the Board as the new member for Product and Technology. Hofmeyr, an experienced technology manager, will take over from Abdurazak (Abdu) Mudesir, who left the operator earlier this year, starting his new role on November 1, 2026.
Additionally, Mladen Mitic has been appointed as the new Chief Product & Digital Officer at Deutsche Telekom. Mitic previously oversaw B2C Commercial Growth within the company’s Europe segment and will now report directly to Hofmeyr. He succeeds Jonathan Abrahamson, who is leaving the company at his own request.
"For me, the farewell to Christian is much more than a personnel matter. Christian and I have worked closely and trustingly together for over two decades. With Dhananjay Mirchandani, we have been able to recruit a recognized leader from within our own ranks to succeed him. At the same time, I am very pleased that we have been able to recruit Jan Hofmeyr, a technology manager of his caliber, for Deutsche Telekom. He can rely on the support of Mladen Mitic, who will be at his side as the new Chief Product & Digital Officer and successor to Jonathan Abrahamson. You can also recognize a strong company by the fact that it puts its next generation in charge in good time. That's exactly what we're doing now," said Tim Höttges, CEO of Deutsche Telekom.
