Qualcomm Unveils New Snapdragon Flagship Processors

Qualcomm has introduced its latest flagship mobile platforms, which the company asserts will facilitate a wide array of intelligent capabilities. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and its Extreme counterpart utilize a 2nm manufacturing process, incorporate Qualcomm’s proprietary Oryon CPU, and feature the manufacturer’s X105 5G modem.

The company highlighted that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 includes a mobile connectivity suite capable of achieving 10Gb/s data transfer rates with forward compatibility for forthcoming Wi-Fi standards. Positioned as a high-performance AI solution, the extreme variant includes a dedicated engine and agentic functionalities integrated within the CPU, GPU, and NPU. Furthermore, the technology incorporates enhanced capabilities for gaming and video reproduction.

Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), including Honor, Xiaomi, Oppo, and OnePlus, are currently developing smartphones based on these platforms. Chris Patrick, SVP and GM of Mobile Handsets, stated that Qualcomm is addressing diverse market requirements through a multi-flagship strategy tailored for the agentic AI era. “These latest platforms provide vendors with expanded options as we collectively define the parameters of next-generation intelligent and personalized mobile experiences,” Patrick noted.
