CES 2026: Meta Delays International AI Glasses Launch

Meta Platforms postponed the international release of its Ray-Ban-branded spectacles originally scheduled for early 2026. The company said that the limited stock and high demand in the US were the reason for the halt.

The Meta Ray-Ban Display model launched in its home market during September 2025. At the time, the company expected to release the device in the UK, Canada, France, and Italy early this year. However, in a product update released at CES 2026, Meta noted the product had extremely limited inventory, with waiting lists for the spectacles extending well into this year. “We’ll continue to focus on fulfilling orders in the US while we re-evaluate our approach to international availability,” it added.

Alongside the update on international sales, the company unveiled a number of new and pilot features for the wearable and Neural Band accessory, which it asserted further increases the usefulness of the devices. These include a fresh teleprompter, a handwriting tool, and an increase in the number of cities covered by a navigation tool.

The discreet teleprompter is promoted for helping users make corporate presentations or record social media videos, with the ability to upload content from a range of sources. The EMG Handwriting tool provides the ability for customers to compose messages to be sent on WhatsApp or Messenger by using their fingers to form words on any surface. Meta said that, while wearing the Neural Band, users could have these movements transcribed into digital messages. They also have the option to select a suggested response during conversations.
