A Sweden-based AI consortium, led by Ericsson, AstraZeneca, and Saab, launched under the brand Sferical AI. The consortium announced Jenny Nordlow as the CEO.
The business consortium announced in May also includes SEB Bank and Wallenberg Investments. In addition to Nordlow, Anders Ynnerman, a professor of scientific visualisation at Linköping University, is the executive chairman. Sferical AI aims to boost Sweden’s industry competitiveness by providing world-class, sovereign, and secure AI computing infrastructure, with an end goal of positioning the country at the forefront of AI-driven business transformations.
Chip heavyweight Nvidia previously pledged to open an AI technology center in Sweden to drive research into the segment and skill the local workforce. Nordlow stated she looks forward to working with the group’s partners to establish the next generation of AI infrastructure in Sweden and strengthening the competitiveness of Swedish industry. Sferical AI is based in Linköping, Sweden.
IBM and AMD announced plans to develop next-generation computing architectures based on the combination of quantum computers and high-performance computing, known as quantum-centric supercomputing.
“Considering that we were only founded in the middle of this year, we can say that Abysalto achieved strong initial momentum in 2025 – both through organizational progress and market impact,” emphasized Željko Tandarić, CEO of Abysalto, in an interview for ICT Business.
