Mobile games downloads grew significantly during February, according to Sensor Tower. The downloads were up by almost 40 percent compared with 2019.

During February, over 4 billion mobile games were downloaded, which represents a 39.1 percent surge. In China, the number of downloaded games was 62.2 percent up. South Korea saw a 10.9 percent surge in mobile games downloads, totalling 56 million in February.

Worldwide, total app downloads hit 10.4 billion in February, up 21.9 per cent year-on-year. Gross revenue rose 14.2 per cent to $7.2 billion. Across all app categories, downloads in China soared by almost 48 percent, while the market generated 9.3 percent of global downloads. The increased downloads coincide with the spread of coronavirus, with a resulting rise in tracking service accesses.
