Nvidia and OpenAI Plan Large Infrastructure Investment in the UK

OpenAI and Nvidia are in talks to make a large investment in AI infrastructure in the UK. The news comes ahead of an expected visit to the country by US President Donald Trump.

The tech giants are discussing a deal for data centres across the UK to bolster AI sovereignty, according to a CNBC report. The news outlet reported the agreement could be worth billions of dollars. Cloud computing company Nscale is also in the mix, although the agreement is not yet final.

The deal could be announced during a visit by President Trump, which Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is expected to join. OpenAI and the UK government forged a strategic partnership in July to expand AI security research collaborations and explore infrastructure investment. In April, OpenAI, Oracle, and Softbank Group selected the UK for the first overseas expansion of their Stargate joint venture.
