Qualcomm Unveils New Snapdragon Platform from Series 7

Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 768G Mobile Platform, a follow-on to the 765G. The new platform is designed to bring higher performance that enables smart, immersive gaming experiences with the integration of 5G, on-device AI and select Elite Gaming features.

“We are uniquely positioned to accelerate 5G commercialization at scale and Snapdragon 768G is an example of how we’re continuing to deliver solutions to address the needs of our OEM customers,“ said Kedar Kondap, vice president, product management, Qualcomm. “Our expanding portfolio has the potential to make 5G accessible to billions of smartphone users around the world.“

Snapdragon 768G offers the performance enhancements over 765G. Kryo 475 CPU Prime core clock speed will go up to 2.8 GHz from 2.4 GHz in the previous series. Qualcomm said that the Adreno 620 GPU will offer up to 15% performance increase and it will support updates for GPU drivers.

The 768G features the Snapdragon X52 5G Modem, which is compatible with mmWave, sub-6 GHz frequencies and is designed for devices aimed at non-standalone and standalone networks. Xiaomi's Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition will be the first commercial device to be announced based on Snapdragon 768G.
