Nokia unveiled a charging configurator microservice for its existing Nokia Converged Charging (NCC) monetization solution. It will enable Communications Service Providers (CSPs) to create new charging logic and service offers and move faster to market when configuring new and innovative 5G services.

The solution utilizes an intuitive business user interface with drag and drop functionality and natural language statements to create new pricing and market offers, without the need for any coding. With pre-integrated and flexible charging rules, the enhanced NCC solution allows CSPs to keep up with evolving customer needs to monetize any service that can be measured, such as network slices and enterprise and consumer IoT offerings, which in turn unlocks new revenue streams for operators.

Leveraging cloud native containerized microservices, NCC supports ultra low-latency, high frequency charging. NCC fully supports 3GPP and leverages industry standards including TM Forum Open APIs to minimize the time required to on-board new customers. Nokia’s charging solutions support leading CSPs and over 1 billion subscribers across the globe. It will be deployed to existing NCC customers, including Sunrise, Taiwan Star Telecom and several global tier one CSPs, in October.

“With this enhancement to our Converged Charging solution, we are putting the power in the hands of the business to create and monetize new innovative services rapidly. Without the need for coding, CSPs have the needed flexibility to evolve their network and meet the needs of subscribers,“ said Hamdy Farid, Senior Vice President for Business Applications, Cloud and Network Services at Nokia.
