One of the many appeals of video streaming services is the fact that you can watch shows and movies pretty much wherever you go as long as you have an internet connection.

Many people enjoy watching a sitcom on their evening commute, while others like to finish a long movie on their tablet in bed or watch a documentary to kill some time at the airport. Despite the possibility to watch pretty much anything wherever you want, the lion’s share of video streaming still happens on the big screen.

That is true for Netflix at least, as the company reported at a press briefing this week. The company says that 70 percent of global viewing time happens on connected TVs rather than on mobile devices or PCs.

Perhaps unsurprisingly considering the sometimes clunky user interfaces of smart TVs, the majority of Netflix users signs up for the service using a PC or a smartphone, once the binge watching begins however, they tend to revert to the big screen.
