With an HRK 19 million investment, Hrvatski Telekom has started the implementation of the fiber-optic infrastructure in the area of Slavonski Brod. The modern network was installed in the communities of Slavonija 1, Slavonija 2, Kolonija, Mikrorajon, and Osječka Street.

The implementation should be completed by the end of October, and the first users are expected to be connected early November this year. It will allow 8,000 households to use the fiber-optic infrastructure that enables ultra-fast internet with speeds over 100 Mbit/s. In the future, these speeds will go over 1 Gbit/s. The design of the fiber-optic network in more areas of the city is also in preparation, and should be deployed in that area by the end of 2020.

The realization of this project will improve the customer experience and enable the seamless use of advanced and innovative digital products and services such as e-Citizens, e-school, e-health, and e-parking, the use of which requires high access speeds. At the same time, the introduction of fiber-optic infrastructure will contribute to increasing the competitiveness of the local economy.

“Continuous improvement of network quality is our strategic priority. Investments in fiber-optic infrastructure are the basis of technological, economic, and social development because they provide higher speeds, better signals, and many tangible benefits for residential and business customers. Hrvatski Telekom aims to provide the best service in all parts of Croatia. We are pleased that we are bringing modernization and a world of better opportunities to Slavonski Brod and the people of Brod,“ said Boris Drilo, CTIO of Hrvatski Telekom.
