Digital transformation trade association Digital Europe called for further alignment between Europe and the US to ensure sovereignty and territorial integrity are maintained. The body believes that those elements are the key to fully employing technology in the future.

The body stated that a recent de-escalation of tensions between the region and the US is a step in the right direction, but argued that more must be done to ensure the economic stability of both markets. Director-General Cecilia Bonefeld Dahl said the EU needs a stronger mandate and argued the region must remain united in its response to external pressure to safeguard its interests and credibility. Digital Europe highlighted 70 CEOs in the region backed an AI and critical technology declaration it prepared, which calls for the EU to work more closely with member states to unlock future investment in industrial digitalisation.

It argued that its principles around national boundaries and sovereignty should form a core of transatlantic trade, which it stated is already promoting digital and industrial value chains covering semiconductors, cloud, cybersecurity, and connectivity. The association stated that such elements are essential for economic stability and are building strength on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.
